Teva named UK generics manufacturer of the year

Teva has been named UK generics manufacturer of the year at a customer-voted awards event organised by Pharmacy Business.

The company took the prestigious accolade at the 2012 Pharmacy Business Awards in recognition of the hard work of its staff and the range of standout products it has been responsible for manufacturing during the year.

It represents the tenth time that Teva has claimed this accolade, an unprecedented achievement that is indicative of the high regard the brand is held in by its customers.

Kim Innes, commercial director at Teva UK, said: "This is the tenth consecutive year that readers of Pharmacy Business magazine have voted us the best generics company in the UK."

More than one in six prescription packs dispensed in the UK is a Teva product, according to estimates from the company, which has launched almost 25 new medicines during 2012.

The company states that its commitment to making more generic therapies available will help save the NHS more than nine billion pounds each year.
