Teva UK commits to Haiti medical donation
Teva UK has committed to donating 200,000 pounds worth of medical supplies to aid rescue efforts in earthquake-stricken Haiti.
The generic medicines manufacturer will be making the contribution via International Health Partners (IHP) as part of its ongoing efforts to make its products as accessible as possible to those in need.
Among the items to be donated are potentially life-saving antibiotic products, with IHP now working with other agencies to ensure the supplies are delivered as quickly as possible.
Richard Daniell, commercial operations officer at Teva UK, expressed the company’s satisfaction at being able to offer a contribution to assist victims of the tragedy.
He added: “Teva’s philosophy is one of affordable and quality healthcare for all and we sincerely hope our donation will help those who need it the most in these terrible circumstances.”
Earlier this month, the company revealed that it will be discontinuing its Beclazone pMDI inhalers as of the end of next month.
