Thermo Fisher Scientific acquires Priority Solutions

Thermo Fisher Scientific yesterday announced the acquisition of third-party healthcare and pharmaceutical industry logistics provider Priority Solutions.

According to the firm, Priority Solutions provides a range of services including pharmaceutical sample shipment, pharmaceutical warehousing and order fulfilment and direct-to-physician patient supplies.

Marjin Dekkers, president and chief executive of Thermo Fisher Scientific, commented that the addition of Priority Solutions will allow the provision of an improved service for biotechnology and pharmaceutical clients wishing to outsource clinical trials management.

"This acquisition brings tremendous logistics expertise and an infrastructure to our existing outsourcing services that strengthens our ability to deliver pharmaceutical supplies to the right people at the right time – anywhere in the world," he added.

Priority Solutions’ logistics network covers over 500 cities across the world.

Last month, Thermo Fisher Scientific announced the launch of its new range of Series 8000 CO2 incubators which feature "cutting-edge" cell culture incubation technology.
