Thermo Fisher Scientific and Hamilton Bonaduz agree distribution deal

17th August 2016

Thermo Fisher Scientific has announced a new product distribution agreement with Hamilton Bonaduz, a leading provider of liquid handling, process measurement and storage solutions.

The strategic agreement will see the companies combining their capabilities to provide human identification customers with access to fully automated platforms and reagents that allow them to eliminate manual errors and increase lab productivity.

Under the terms of the non-exclusive agreement, Thermo Fisher will directly offer Hamilton automation instruments and consumables to customers in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and China.

Offerings encompassed by the deal include the ID STARlet Extraction, ID STARlet PCR and ID STARlet Complete systems, as well as the Hamilton ID Express 2 and 4 CE Setup instruments.

Each platform has been optimised for the Applied Biosystems family of products used by many forensic laboratories.

Rosy Lee, vice-president and general manager for human identification at Thermo Fisher, said: "Our ability to now offer our customers direct access to Hamilton's sophisticated automation platforms … will facilitate an expedited lab set up through a complete suite of trusted solutions at each step of the forensic workflow."
