Thermo Fisher Scientific announces new lab software launch

22nd September 2010

Thermo Fisher Scientific has unveiled a new range of software products designed to provide laboratory technicians with new ways of enhancing processes.

Attending the Human Proteome Organization (HUPO) 2010 Congress, the company revealed a suite of five software solutions with various qualitative and quantitative proteomics applications.

They include ProteinCenter, a web-based tool for sharing and accessing protein data, as well as the Proteome Discoverer software for analysis of proteomics information.

Other additions to the suite include the ProSightPC peptides and intact proteins identification system – which functions in tandem with Thermo Scientific mass spectrometers – and the Pinpoint software for biomarker verification.

Andreas Huhmer, proteomics marketing director for life sciences mass spectrometry at Thermo Fisher Scientific, said: "The software innovations presented at HUPO strengthen our industry-leading workflows for qualitative and quantitative proteomics."

Thermo Fisher Scientific experienced a strong performance in the second quarter of 2010, with its most recent fiscal report showing a seven per cent rise in year-on-year revenues.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800076739-ADNFCR
