Thermo Fisher Scientific buys emission monitoring assets from Eptek Technology
Thermo Fisher Scientific has announced the completion of its acquisition of certain assets from Eptek Technology.
The firm has acquired assets including volatile organic compound (VOC) continuous emission monitoring systems (CEMS), which are used to measure and analyse air quality across a range of industrial applications.
Following the completion of the deal, these technologies will be integrated into Thermo Fisher's analytical instruments segment, with several related entities with offices in Taiwan and mainland China also set to be included in the transaction.
It is expected that these new VOC CEMS assets will complement the company's already extensive range of environmental and air quality monitoring solutions, which are used to detect a variety of gaseous and aerosol pollutants. The deal will also enhance Thermo Fisher Scientific's business capabilities in Asia.
The company said: "VOC CEMS is an expanding market opportunity in China, as customers need advanced monitoring instrumentation and software to help them comply with new and rapidly evolving environmental standards."
