Thermo Fisher Scientific launches iBind Flex Western System

20th May 2015

Thermo Fisher Scientific has announced the launch of a new western blot system that offers multiformat hands-free immunodetection.

The iBind Flex Western System builds upon the existing benefits of the iBind Western System, with its proprietary sequential lateral flow enabling a more versatile walk-away solution for immunodetection.

With the new device, users can adapt their process for a variety of blot formats and sample throughput, including compatibility with downstream chemiluminescent, colorimetric or fluorescent detection protocols.

It is also optimised for higher sensitivity and reproducibility, meaning there is potential for a significant reduction in the amount of primary antibodies required when compared to manual blot processing.

Kevin Lowitz, senior product manager for protein biology at Thermo Fisher Scientific, said: "We are thrilled to introduce the next-generation iBind Flex device and consumables to address a latent need that affects a large segment of life science researchers worldwide who frequently perform western blotting."

This comes after the firm launched its new SlideMate AS and PrintMate AS laboratory printing devices last week.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801788211-ADNFCR
