Thermo Fisher Scientific launches new Cryostar NX50 cryostat

23rd December 2013

Thermo Fisher Scientific has announced the launch of Cryostar NX50, a new manual cryostat offering scientists improved functionality and ergonomics benefits.

Designed to ensure efficient high-quality frozen sectioning, the innovative cryostat incorporates knife cooling and adjustable specimen head temperature, allowing for rapid adjustment to meet the temperature requirements for each specimen.

Its LCD touchscreen interface provides scientists with ergonomic and streamlined usability, with icon-driven software parameters that can be changed simply and quickly when dealing with different specimen types.

Other benefits include its optional motorised height adjustment, Cold D disinfection system and variable-pressure vacutome.

Richard Vernon, commercial product manager for Thermo Fisher Scientific, said: "Pathologists rely on quick turnaround time and excellent sectioning quality from their cryostat. Our Cryostar NX50 gives them the functionality and control to achieve diagnosis rapidly."

This comes after the firm recently launched another new cryostat, HM525 NX, which features 27 cooled specimen positions.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801675741-ADNFCR
