Thermo Fisher Scientific launches new multipurpose salmonella test

Thermo Fisher Scientific has announced the launch of a new salmonella multiplex PCR solution for laboratories performing tests for poultry producers.

The Thermo Scientific RapidFinder Salmonella Multiplex PCR Workflow features simple sample preparation and can deliver results in as few as 16 hours from various meat products, as well as production environment samples.

It was recently awarded the NF Validation mark by AFNOR Certification, and represents the first independently validated PCR test to offer simultaneous screening for salmonella species, typhimurium and enteritidis.

The test's sample enrichment and PCR preparation protocols allow for fast and scalable application, while its excellent sensitivity, specificity and reliability has been validated by numerous studies.
