Thermo Fisher Scientific launches new PCR reagents

19th August 2013

Thermo Fisher Scientific has announced the launch of new high-fidelity polymerase chain reaction (PCR) reagents within its Phusion and Luminaris product ranges.

The new Thermo Scientific Phusion Green High-Fidelity DNA Polymerase and Luminaris Color qPCR master mixes incorporate proprietary tracking dyes to speed up the pipetting process, enabling easier and more accurate PCR set-up processes for DNA researchers.

Since they can be easily identified visually, the mixes can vastly reduce the chance of human error and minimise the number of necessary procedural steps, while the dyes have also been engineered to avoid interference with the reaction or any downstream applications.

Margarita Leckiene, director of nucleic acid detection and molecular tools for Thermo Fisher Scientific, said: "Phusion polymerase technology has dramatically increased the productivity of labs running PCR. Our philosophy is to simplify customer workflows further and increase the reproducibility of results."

Last month, the company announced its financial results for the second quarter of 2013, during which it achieved a record-breaking performance in terms of revenues and earnings.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801626774-ADNFCR
