Thermo Fisher Scientific launches new ultrapure methylene chloride products
Thermo Fisher Scientific has announced the launch of its new Fisher Chemical Optima and GC Resolv Methylene Chloride solutions.
These new ultrapure methylene chloride solvents have been designed to offer an interference-free baseline in chromatograms, allowing for better detection of trace levels of target analytes in compounds of interest.
They are designed specifically for users of methylene chloride in pharmaceutical, environmental, food and chemical industries applications, and can be used as an extraction solvent for identifying and quantifying trace amounts of volatile organic compounds by gas chromatography.
Key advantages of these enhanced grades of methylene chloride include high purity levels, an extended shelf life and solvent quality that can be sustained even in large-volume returnable containers.
Stephen Roemer, global director for research and development at the company's Fisher Chemical business, said: "We implemented a quality-by-design approach to manufacture ultrapure methylene chloride in order to provide researchers with an extraction solvent that consistently shows an interference-free baseline during GC analysis."
