Thermo Fisher Scientific launches versatile new GC-MS system

9th September 2014

Thermo Fisher Scientific has announced the launch of a new gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) solution that supports both single and triple quadrupole methods.

The Thermo Scientific TSQ Duo triple quadrupole GC-MS/MS system is designed for laboratories performing environmental analysis, forensics testing or other single quadrupole GC-MS analyses that also require a cost-effective way of adding GC-MS/MS capabilities.

It allows users to maintain their current methods and then easily switch over to MS/MS analysis as and when they need to, with the familiar Dionex Chromeleon Chromatography Data System (CDS) running both functions.

Meanwhile, the addition of new selected ion monitoring bridge software capabilities to Chromeleon will help simplify the adoption of MS/MS methods on the TSQ Duo.

Frank Tontala, product manager for Chromeleon CDS at Thermo Fisher Scientific, said: "This is the first time that chromatographers have been able to access the power of triple quadrupole mass spectrometry using the Chromeleon CDS."

The firm has achieved a strong performance in 2014 so far, experiencing a 33 percent rise in revenues year on year during the second quarter of the year.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801747532-ADNFCR
