Thermo Fisher Scientific named as SelectScience’s company of the year

Thermo Fisher Scientific has been chosen as company of the year by readers and contributors of SelectScience magazine.

The independent online resource has presented the firm with its reviewers' choice company of the year prize, recognising it as the organisation with the best reviews and ratings on the SelectScience database.

Additionally, Thermo Fisher Scientific received the video of the year award for its segment featuring Professor Francisco Radler, head of the Brazilian Doping Control Laboratory, showcasing the role that mass spectrometry plays in the detection of prohibited substances in athletes' samples.

Meanwhile, the article of the year prize was won by Alexander Makarov, director of global research for mass spectrometry at Thermo Fisher Scientific, for his article on the Hong Kong Jockey Club's use of Orbitrap mass spectrometry technology in doping tests.

The firm previously won the reviewers' choice company of the year prize in 2015.
