Thermo Fisher Scientific receives CE Mark for three diagnostic products

14th September 2015

Thermo Fisher Scientific has been granted CE Mark approval for three new in vitro diagnostics technology offerings.

The company's Prelude MD high-performance liquid chromatograph, Endura MD mass spectrometer and ClinQuan MD software have all been approved in Europe for general in vitro diagnostic use.

Each of these new offerings has been designed and manufactured for use in analysing patient samples as components of laboratory-developed tests, and will help to broaden usage of liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry techniques.

The products were exhibited at the second annual European Conference on Clinical Mass Spectrometry, which took place in Salzburg last week.

Bradley Hart, strategic director for life sciences mass spectrometry for Thermo Fisher's clinical markets unit, said: "These three products are part of a larger initiative to make mass spectrometry more useful and accessible to clinicians."

This comes after the firm introduced its new Ion S5 and Ion S5 XL benchtop systems for next-generation sequencing applications earlier this month.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801800426-ADNFCR
