Thermo Fisher Scientific wins award for FT-IR microscope

6th August 2009

Thermo Fisher Scientific has welcomed news that its latest Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR) microscope has been named as a winner in R&D Magazine awards’ technologically-significant scientific products of 2009 category.

The Thermo Scientific Nicolet iN10 MX microscope was recognised by the publication for its accuracy, speed and ease of use.

It was also celebrated as a piece of equipment that improves process monitoring for analytical services, materials science and academic laboratories.

Dr Ian Jardine, vice-president of global research and development for Thermo Fisher Scientific, said: "The R&D 100 is a well-respected technology award and we’re honoured to receive this validation for our ongoing innovation in molecular spectroscopy."

He also stated that the company is committed to the development of "breakthrough technologies" that allow its customers to reach their goals.

This news comes after Thermo Fisher Scientific reported its second-quarter financial results earlier this week.

The company said that one highlight of the three-month period was the acquisition of Biolab.ADNFCR-1050-ID-19301261-ADNFCR
