Unilever announces Kate Somerville Skincare acquisition
Unilever has announced the acquisition of the independent US prestige skincare brand Kate Somerville Skincare for an undisclosed fee.
The company is known for its Active Balance Technology, which combines advanced active ingredients with natural botanicals. Its products are currently sold by prestige retailers in the US, with a growing Asian market presence.
Unilever will be helping to expand Kate Somerville Skincare's global footprint and bring its range of high-end products to a wider audience.
Its product range includes brands such as Exfolikate and Dermal Quench, which are known for their innovation and performance.
Vasiliki Petrou, senior vice-president for prestige brands at Unilever, said: "We believe it has exciting growth potential and look forward to bringing its breakthrough products to new markets. Its premium positioning effectively complements our existing portfolio."
This comes after the company bought out the prestigious British brand Ren Skincare earlier this year.
