Unilever to publish fragrance ingredients online to bolster transparency
Unilever has announced plans to start publishing its fragrance ingredients online as part of its broader commitment to greater transparency.
Starting with France and the UK, the company will share individual product information for all home and personal care fragrance brands, down to 0.01 percent of the product formulation. This will include details on how each ingredient is used, and the role it plays in the mixture.
This initiative will be rolled out across all European countries by the end of 2018, and will help build trust in Unilever brands, while empowering consumers to make educated choices about the products they are buying, particularly in regard to allergens and ethical sourcing.
David Blanchard, Unilever's chief research and development officer, said: "We're excited to take the next step in our transparency journey, delivering on our promise to give people the information they need to choose the right products for them."
This continues the company's ongoing transparency initiative launched in 2017, which saw the introduction of a new 'What's in our Products' section on Unilever websites.
