Vascutek gains investment to expand headquarters

13th February 2018

Vascutek is to expand its headquarters in Renfrewshire after its Japanese owner, Terumo Corporation, confirmed it will be investing £33 million to help increase production.

The firm's base at Inchinnan will now be expanded, with current facilities being increased in size and two new clean rooms being created. The work will start in April and should be finished by 2021.

It means the firm will be able to increase production of specialised medical implant equipment, such as devices designed to combat aortic disease.

These goods are sold in over 100 countries, with 90 percent of the firm's market being overseas.

Commenting on the news, Vascutek president and chief executive Paul Holbrook said: "This is an extremely exciting time for the company as we look to secure further growth in the surgical grafts market.

"The investment from Terumo is testament to the quality, efficiency and excellent customer service delivered consistently by our team at Inchinnan."
