Virbac announces extended support for Wildlife Vets International

1st December 2016

Virbac has signed up to be a partner in conservation for the charity group Wildlife Vets International (WVI) for an additional three years.

The animal health company will be supporting the charity's involvement in #ChristmasChallenge16, the UK's biggest online matched funding initiative for charities, which this year will provide funds for the Pine Marten Recovery Project.

To take part in the challenge, the charity agreed to source matched funding for any contributions made by its supporters. Virbac is one of the companies providing this matched funding.

David Ellerton, managing director of Virbac, said: "WVI is a leader in the field of wildlife and conservation medicine and its team is frequently asked to tackle new projects and problems. We are delighted to continue to support such a vital part of the conservation network."

WVI provides veterinary support and skills to conservation workers on field projects to save rare and endangered animals around the world. The Pine Marten Recovery Project aims to restore numbers of what was once the second most common carnivore in the British Isles.

Virbac has been a WVI partner since 2011 and also provides supplies of its Zoletil anaesthetic to the charity.
