W2O to create health and tech agency following Pure Communications acquisition

W2O Group has announced the acquisition of Pure Communications as part of a move to create a new health and technology-focused agency.

Pure Communications is a leading strategic communications consultancy with a focus on the healthcare industry, operating from offices in North Carolina and Massachusetts. Following the acquisition, it will be combined with W2O's existing San Francisco-based agency BrewLife.

The new-look global life sciences and technology-focused agency will provide a distinctive offering of branding/positioning, public relations/communications, investor relations, creative, digital and analytical services.

Andrea Johnston, Pure Communications' founder and chief executive officer, will lead the integrated firm, which will be part of W2O Group's network when it officially launches in early 2017.

The combined agency will provide services to both the east and west coasts of the US, as well as offering services in Europe through BrewLife's capabilities in the region.

This comes after Mountaingate Capital, a leading middle-market private equity investment firm, secured an investment position in W2O Group earlier this year.
