Waggener Edstrom wins new contract with AVG

30th September 2013

Waggener Edstrom has earned a new contract with security vendor AVG, ahead of a management change and several important product launches.

The win consolidates AVG's UK and US PR activity with Waggener Edstrom, coming after the firm was named as AVG's lead agency for global and UK communications last year, according to The Holmes Report.

Waggener Edstrom's work utilises a multitude of channels and media formats and primarily targets baby boomers, with some focus on small to medium-sized businesses, and it also runs AVG's London-based content hub, which generates material for the US as well.

AVG has recently recruited former Mozilla head Gary Kovacs as its new chief executive officer and is gearing up to release its 2014 product portfolio.

Lisa Allen, senior vice-president and general manager of the agency's San Francisco office, said: "This is a space where you have to be really creative. [AVG chief marketing officer Judith Bitterli] has a focus on the boomer audience."

This comes after the agency won a brief with Reed Exhibitions to lead PR activity for next year's Infosecurity Europe exhibition earlier this month.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801643610-ADNFCR
