Walgreens Boots Alliance names chief financial officer

Walgreens Boots Alliance has announced the appointment of James Kehoe as its new executive vice-president and global chief financial officer, effective as of June 1st.

Mr Kehoe has served as chief financial officer of Takeda since June 2016, and as a member of its board of directors since June 2017. He is an accomplished finance executive with experience of working in the consumer goods sector and a track record of driving operational business performance.

Jim Skinner, Walgreens Boots Alliance's executive chairman, said: "We are pleased to welcome James Kehoe to lead the Walgreens Boots Alliance global finance operations, as the company now moves into our exciting future as a global leader in health and wellbeing."

Mr Kehoe has been appointed as the successor to George Fairweather, who has served in this role since February 2015, and played a key role in the formation of Walgreens Boots Alliance in its current form, while overseeing a major cost transformation programme.

Following his departure from the role, he will become a senior advisor to Walgreen Boots Alliance chief executive officer Stefano Pessina for business development and finance.
