Walgreens Boots Alliance’s New CEO Starts this October

12th October 2023

Tim Wentworth will begin serving as the next CEO of Boots UK’s parent firm Walgreens Boots Alliance towards the end of October.

Rosalind Brewer, who confirmed her resignation on September 1st following more than two years in the position, is succeeded by Mr. Wentworth.

Wentworth comes from a position in Evernorth and has also worked at Accredo and Express Scripts in the past.

The corporation said that he is coming in during a streamlining of its operations, which involved closing hundreds of pharmacies across the UK and US. They are looking to develop “greater value for employees, patients, customers and shareholders”.

This change has been made in the wake of Walgreens executives’ failed bid to get rid of Boots in 2022, with persistent rumours in business publications that a second sales push is imminent.

Wentworth explained that “WBA has a differentiated model with the power to build on the company’s pharmacy strength and trusted brand to evolve healthcare delivery.”

“I’ve spent my career working to improve the health of the patients we’ve served. I believe WBA is well positioned to deliver more personalised, coordinated care and achieve better outcomes at a lower cost.
