Waters achieves further growth during second quarter of 2017
Waters has reported its financial results for the second quarter of 2017, during which it achieved a sales total of $558 million (425.54 million pounds).
This represented a year-on-year increase of four percent, with growth achieved across the pharmaceutical, industrial, and governmental and academic markets. For the first half of the year, Waters' sales have now reached $1.06 billion, another four percent increase compared to last year.
Continued strong growth from Asia and a solid European performance were also observed during the period, which helped to offset the relative weakness of the company's operations in the Americas.
Christopher O'Connell, president and chief executive officer of Waters, said: "We are pleased with our performance in the second quarter, highlighted by balanced growth across our major customer end markets and product lines, along with continued strength in Asia and Europe."
In 2016, the company achieved a 12-month sales total of $2.17 billion, which represented a year-on-year increase of six percent. The firm remains on course to exceed this performance in 2017.
