Waters introduces new microscale separations offerings
Waters has announced the launch of a new line of chromatographic fittings and a new microscale separations device.
The latest additions to the company's microscale separations science portfolio were presented at the recent International Mass Spectrometry Conference, during which the company demonstrated the benefits they offer to research scientists.
Its new iKey HT 300-micron id microfluidic device is a ceramic tile etched with a 300-micron id channel packed with UPLC particles that takes the place of a traditional capillary column and allows scientists to run separations at higher flow rates compared to the 150 micron tile.
Meanwhile, the ZenFit Tubing Kits provide finger-tightened fittings for microscale chromatography applications, making it easier than ever to replace connective tubing.
This is an important advance, as connective tubing inside UPLC systems can easily clog, prompting the need for replacement, and overtightening the connective fittings at this point can lead to breakage or crushing of the tubing.
The company said: "The new products enable research scientists doing nano-to-microscale liquid chromatography to achieve greater levels of productivity for peptide bioanalyses and for pharmacokinetic and endogenous peptide biomarker validation studies."
