Waters launches new Acquity QDa Detector worldwide
Waters has announced the global launch of its new Acquity QDa Detector, a device that makes mass detection capabilities more widely accessible to chromatography researchers.
It is the first mass detector to bring high-quality mass spectral data to chromatographic separations and is compatible with the Waters Acquity UltraPerformance LC, Acquity UltraPerformance Convergence Chromatography, Alliance high-performance liquid chromatography and supercritical fluid chromatography and LC-based purification systems.
The system fully automates sample analysis and eliminates sample-specific adjustments for certainty in sample results, and is capable of producing a similar performance to single quadrupole mass spectrometers in a much smaller unit.
Waters states that the new product represents the culmination of 30 years of research and development.
Art Caputo, president of Waters, said: "The Acquity QDa Detector adds a whole new dimension to separation science and it is the most progressive leap forward in chromatography detection since the first photodiode detectors were introduced decades ago."
This comes after the manufacturer recently received an R&D 100 Award for its Acquity UPC2 System.
