Waters launches new VICAM Ochra-V Aqua ochratoxin detection test

Waters has announced the launch of its new VICAM Ochra-V Aqua test, designed for the detection of ochratoxin A in green coffee and wheat.

The rapid, eco-friendly lateral flow strip test from Waters subsidiary VICAM has been designed to reduce ochratoxin A testing time by half compared to traditional methods, while eliminating the use of organic solvents entirely.

It enables on-site monitoring to provide precise quantitative results minutes after sample extraction is complete. This allows producers and processors the ability to quickly select safe, high-quality raw materials for milling and roasting.

This is the latest in a series of solvent-free testing solutions to be launched by VICAM for use with the Vertu lateral flow strip test reader, with other options including the Afla-V Aqua test for aflatoxins, the Fumo-V Aqua test for fumonisin and the Don-V vomitoxin test.
