Waters to offer Proteolabels proteomics software

16th March 2017

Waters has announced that it will be offering a new software solution called Proteolabels to proteomics users and researchers worldwide.

The software is being offered through an exclusive agreement with Omic Analytics, a startup business based in Liverpool, and has been designed as an extension for the Progenesis QI suite.

Proteolabels supports studies involving stable isotope labels, such as SILAC and dimethyl labelling in duplex or triplex, and has been developed with a focus on performance and usability.

Key features include co-detection functionality, an auto-detection system that suggests optimal parameters to simplify analysis, peptide scoring capabilities and intelligent protein inference to give more accurate protein-level quantitation results.

Omic Analytics entered this collaboration with Waters with the specific goal of expanding access to Proteolabels on a global basis.

Dr Steve Smith, vice-president of informatics at Waters, said: "Proteolabels extends the use of Progenesis QI for proteomics, a need for many of our customers working in health sciences, along with a growing number in food and environmental research."
