Welch Allyn launches new ProBP 2400 blood pressure device
Welch Allyn has announced the launch of a new clinical-grade blood pressure device that offers improved accuracy and greater ease of diagnosis.
The Welch Allyn ProBP 2400 offers three different modes, is highly portable and provides a range of workflow options, as well as a nickel–metal hydride battery that stays charged for up to 600 readings.
An automatic single reading mode offers an easy-to-use option for quick results, while the 3-Reading Average mode makes it easier to aggregate multiple readings. In addition, a third mode allows clinicians to operate the device in a manual method using a stethoscope.
The company is also providing an optional high-capacity battery that stays charged for up to 1,000 readings if needed.
Ryan Raymond, senior specialist for physical assessment products at Welch Allyn, said: "Our new device gives practices the ability to capture manual or automatic blood pressure readings on a single device and at a price point that makes it ideal for many settings."
The company is in the process of being acquired by Hill-Rom, a deal that is expected to be completed before the end of September 2015.
