Welch Allyn names new company president

20th August 2015

Welch Allyn has announced the appointment of Alton Shader as the new president of business, succeeding Stephen Meyer.

Mr Shader, the current president of Hill-Rom's North American business unit, will become president of Welch Allyn and its consolidated companies upon the closing of Hill-Rom's previously-announced acquisition of the firm.

John Greisch, president and chief executive officer of Hill-Rom, said: "Under Alton's leadership … we have revitalised this business and the results speak for themselves – North America orders, revenue and operating income are all significantly ahead of plan this year."

The two medical technology companies recently signed a definitive agreement under which Hill-Rom will acquire Welch Allyn in a cash and stock deal worth around $2.05 billion (1.31 billion pounds). It is expected to close before the end of September 2015.

Mr Meyer, Welch Allyn's current president and chief executive officer, will leave the company after a period of transition and integration.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801798214-ADNFCR
