Welch Allyn president and CEO to retire

10th January 2012

Welch Allyn has announced that president and chief executive officer (CEO) Julie Shimer will be retiring from the company at the end of 2012.

The company has appointed a search committee and an outside executive search firm to commence the process of finding a new CEO, with internal and external candidates both set to be considered.

Ms Shimer has been a member of the Welch Allyn board of directors since 2002 and has led the company since 2007, taking credit for developing a platform strategy for the firm's products and services that has led to growth.

She was the first woman to lead the business in its almost 100-year history and is dedicated to continuing Welch Allyn's success in 2012, as well as ensuring that the leadership transition process is a smooth one.

"I am extremely proud of all we have accomplished together in my ten-year association with this fine company," Ms Shimer said.

Last month, the company was presented with four MarCom Awards by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals, thanks to the high standards of its recent communications initiatives.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801260286-ADNFCR
