Wrigley’s sponsored summit to discuss the needs of improving access to dental care was a “milestone”, it has been claimed.
Around 150 stakeholders from non-profit groups, government agencies and private industry met to converse over the problem that a growing number of people are unable to access oral health assistance.
Topics discussed included workforce development strategies, strengthening dental delivery systems and improving oral health literacy through social marketing.
John S Findley, president of ADA, commented: “We are very pleased with the success of the summit, which will serve as a milestone toward our common goal of improving access to dental care.”
He added practical solutions from a broad range of shareholders are needed to tackle the problem.
Procter & Gamble, along with the Dental Trade Alliance, supported the meeting.
