13th October 2008

Commenting on the result, Bob Nicholas, an attorney from Reed Smith, the firm which represented Wyeth, said the firm believes the unanimous verdict was supported by the case’s evidence.

“While Mrs. Crowder’s death was tragic, the medical evidence clearly demonstrated that her condition was unrelated to the diet drugs she used over ten years ago,” he added.

The trial commenced of September 29th and the applicant alleged the wrongful death of Mrs Crowder as a result of primary pulmonary hypertension as a result of using her diet drug Pondimin, which was once marketed by Wyeth.
