YouView seeks new advertising agency partner
YouView, the high-profile internet TV service that made its debut last year, is commencing a new advertising agency review.
The company has contacted several PR firms to invite them to pitch for the business and the review will be overseen by the company's own marketing team, with input from its chairman, the business magnate and media personality Lord Sugar.
It comes after YouView's previous partnership with Adam and Eve/DDB came to an end last month, shortly after the debut of a major ad campaign in September 2012, which featured well-known actors and characters projected on buildings, reports Campaign.
A YouView spokeswoman said: "A mutual agreement was made that our creative advertising agency requirements are changing as we move into the next phase of YouView's evolution, so we are planning to review our arrangements in early this year."
YouView is a joint venture between TalkTalk, BT, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, the BBC and Arqiva, providing catch-up TV services and more than 70 digital channels through a set-top box.
The service has had a troubled gestation and was originally set to debut in 2010, before experiencing significant delays leading up to its launch last summer.
