Zimmer Biomet appoints new head of Americas business

Zimmer Biomet has announced the appointment of Robert Delp as its new president for the Americas, a position that will also see him join the company's executive team.

Mr Delp brings 20 years of sales leadership experience to his new role, having previously served as the company's vice-president of US sales, with responsibility for a number of key product categories.

His career also saw him spend eight years as Biomet's vice-president of sales for several businesses, including sports medicine, extremities, trauma and biologics, prior to the merger between Zimmer and Biomet.

Mr Delp has been promoted following the decision of his predecessor Stuart Kleopfer to retire from the role, although Mr Kleopfer will continue with the company for a period of time, working closely with his successor to ensure a smooth transition.

David Dvorak, Zimmer Biomet's president and chief executive officer, said: "I would like to thank Stuart for his significant contributions to the company and congratulate Rob on his new leadership appointment."
