Zoetis launches new anti-inflammatory agent Contacera for horses

Zoetis has announced the launch of Contacera 15mg/ml oral suspension, a new treatment for the alleviation of musculoskeletal inflammation and pain in horses over six weeks of age.

The new non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) preparation contains the active ingredient meloxicam, which has been shown to hold advantages over phenylbutazone in the treatment of inflammation.

It can be mixed with food or syringed directly into the mouth to ensure compliance and improve ease of administration. It will be available in 100 ml or 250 ml bottles, with a measuring dose syringe and a syringe adaptor.

The NSAID range from Zoetis also includes Meflosyl and Quadrisol.
