Bids & Tender Manager
Role Overview
The Bids & Tenders manager (BTM) will actively review all new bid and tender opportunities for the business. Once reviewed and approved the BTM will coordinate and manage the overall delivery of the tendering process working closely with colleagues from across the business forming a ‘Bid Team’ as appropriate to draw on the relevant skill sets of colleagues. The BTM will be responsible for articulating the strong value proposition offered and will be responsible for producing compelling, customer focused and error-free submissions and presentations, with an aim to fulfil all customer specifications and evaluation criteria ensuring maximum success for the business and driving revenue growth.

Role Requirements
Manage and lead all necessary processes, procedures and governance aspects relating to the Bids & Tenders function.
Identify, Monitor and Track all relevant tender opportunities and raise these for review to the Commercial Director (CD) if relevant.
Schedule and lead tendering “war room” sessions including, workshops, progress reviews and supplier meetings on behalf of the CD. Act as the project coordinator between the commercial team, contracts team, customers and suppliers and provide regular project updates to relevant stakeholders
Analyse tender documentation to uncover key client drivers and objectives and developing a bid strategy for each opportunity.
Manage and collate inputs from a variety of stakeholders and coordinate the bid development prior to submission. Prepare the commercial aspects of the bid and present these for review to the CD ensuring a fully inclusive offering is prepared including the final pricing structure.
Work collaboratively and build strong relationships with counterpart in third-party organisations.
Identify and continually maintain a bid library of blueprint responses. bid content and style to ensure that the business is a market leader in bid submissions including liaising with all parts of the business to ensure the latest collateral is available for responses.
Understand and be able to disseminate tender responses and resolve complex technical, strategic, and business issues drawing on the existing expertise within the business.
Work collaboratively with all stakeholders both internally and externally to deliver successful submissions in partnership with suppliers including writing/proofing/presenting/editing of responses and attending presentations and post-award reviews with customers and
suppliers.
Provide succinct and constructive feedback to the CD for onward discussion with the SLT which relates specifically to the evaluation criteria published in the ITT.
Liaise with the Implementation Manager, Contracts & Account Management Teams to ensure a clear and thorough transfer of information during post award for the timely preparation of documentation and operational implementation planning.
Assist in other marketing and administrative activities as required by the CD including the updating of the CRM system with all Bids & Tenders activities
Recordings, analysis, and reporting of successful and unsuccessful bids to drive continuous improvement within the business including a lessons learnt log
Person Specifications
Significant proposal and tender experience with a track record of leading winning proposals with the Healthcare arena.
Possess the analytical ability and acumen to capture the salient facts from customer ITTs and form the bid team to identify the likelihood of success.
Familiarity with all tender related activities including portals, PQQs, ITTs and processes of bid submissions and tender management.
Experience of the medical sector tendering to the NHS is an essential skill required for this role.
A can-do attitude and the ability to work collaboratively with teams across the business including the ability to lead, plan, develop and deliver complex responses to challenging deadlines.
Exceptional writing and proposal production skills including the ability to write persuasively and accurately at all times.
The ability to assimilate, understand and disseminate large volumes of information at speed.
Excellent presentation skills with a proficiency in the use of PowerPoint.
Demonstrate a solution focused approach with the ability to develop robust responses to complex problems and challenging deadlines.
Excellent organisation skills with the ability to manage a conflicting heavy workload to tight and challenging timescales.
Project management experience or qualification is desirable but not essential, similarly team manager experience is desirable but not essential.
Excellent MS Office skills, in particular PowerPoint are essential for this role
