Business Development Manager
Role Overview
The Business Development (BD) Manager plays a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of our client. The primary objective of this role is to identify, develop, and nurture new business opportunities whilst building strategic partnerships for our client. The Business Development Manager will serve as a key contributor to the company’s overall success by proactively identifying market & science trends and translating these trends into new product and market developments. The BD manager crafts winning strategies and fosters a culture of innovation and excellence in the marketing & sales team. The BD Manager works in close collaboration with the POR department.
Role Requirements

Develop Business Strategy
– Collaborate with management team to develop and execute business development strategies;
– Create and deploy a comprehensive business plan, with objectives, KPIs and timelines, prioritising business growth and customer satisfaction. Report on plan progress regularly to management team;
– Develop and implement effective sales and marketing strategies and plans to penetrate new markets and expand our client base.
Result to be achieved:
Clear annual business plan outlining actions/timelines and measures of success
Generate Profitable Revenue
– Drive revenue growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, negotiating contracts, and closing deals. Meet or exceed sales targets and contribute significantly to the company’s profitability;
– Research and identify potential clients and partners in the target market segments;
– Negotiate contract terms and conditions, close sales deals, and ensure the successful onboarding of new clients;
– Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to potential clients.
Result to be achieved:
Sales budget achieved or exceeded by development and management of comprehensive sales funnel
Gain Industry leadership
– Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with industry leaders and scientific partners;
– Research and identify potential clients and partners in the target market segments;
– Establish relationships and develop partnerships with potential customers, predominately focusing on decision makers, KOL’s and C-Suite level to maximize our value proposition.

Database of potential customer contacts populated and taken through sales journey
Conduct Market Research and Analysis
– Continuously monitor industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities. Use this
– Knowledge to develop and adapt product and market strategies and contribute to establishing Essange Reagents as an industry leader;
– Gather and analyse market intelligence to stay informed about industry trends and competitors;
– Provide regular reports on sales funnel, forecasts, and results to the senior management team.

Contribute to competitor tracker database and deliver monthly sales reports
Person Specifications
Knowledge
– Bachelors degree in Life Sciences essential with at least 5 years commercial experience in related field;
– Experience and demonstrated success in complex b2b sales strategy deployment
Independence
– Ensures profitable turnover of the products at current and new customers in line with budget
– Requirement for internal and external stakeholder management, negotiation and developing partnerships with customers
– Providing customer insights where needed within Essange Reagents
– Support comes from Chief Commercial Officer
