This Electrical/Electronics Engineer will provide technical support to manufacturing partners, work on continuous improvements and aid the introduction of new products with a focus on safety, quality, cost, delivery and people. Experience improving the design of PCBs, wiring looms and electro-mechanical assemblies is required.

You will be working within a collaborative and high performing project team.
The role is a hybrid of office and home working (2 days office, 3 days at home). The head office is based outside of Reading, Berkshire.

Role responsibilities:
Lead the review and update component and design documentation to facilitate manufacturing transfer.
Assist with defining electro-mechanical sub assembly specification & test documentation.
Execute value engineering / component transfer activities by the use of structured review methods and recognised improvement techniques.
Support electronic assembly validation through testing and documentation
Review and develop supplier proposals to support project objectives.
Provide engineering support to suppliers, purchasing, quality engineering and manufacturing, acting as subject matter expert in a range of subjects.
Define, plan, action and report on validation & verification activities to support engineering change.
Support the ongoing compliance with all regulatory and quality system requirements, including risk management procedures.

Person specification:
HNC/D or Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Experience working in an R&D or manufacturing environment is preferred.
Broad electronics background with a bias towards manufacturing.
Ability to interpret electronic circuits to determine the suitability of alternative components and suggest design improvements.
Experience working with manufacturers to develop, improve and transfer Printed Circuit Board Assemblies, wiring looms and electro-mechanical assemblies.
Computer literate: Ability to use current computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and e-mail applications, as part of daily work.
