Electronic Service and Applications Engineer
Role Overview
We are recruiting on behalf of a growing, global medical imaging company who are looking for an Electronic Service and Applications Engineer to join the team.
This is a field/home based role with national travel. We are looking for candidates ideally located in England (north of Bedford) close to good road networks
Role Requirements
· To install, train users, service and maintain the complete range of equipment and software supplied by Graphic Systems to customers based in the UK and Republic of Ireland from both help desk and hands on perspective.
· Install and repair a range of Graphic Systems supplied equipment/software, currently CTP and WFiJ plus relevant software applications.
· Respond to customer issues help desk.
· Work with other members of the service team in Graphic Systems Group in resolving customer service related problems.
· Report movements to the Service Department through the Help desk to ensure good communications are maintained at all times.
· Escalate to Service Manager/Customer Service and Support Manager any serious or potential unresolved issues, which may affect customer/supplier relationships and debt collection immediately
· Ensure all Health and Safety requirements are adhered to at all times, reporting any potential hazards to Service Manager/Customer Service and Support Manager.
· Ensure at all times that complete confidential compliance is maintained regarding products. Honouring at all times any non-disclosure agreements entered into by the company
· Gather information on competitor equipment and software, where appropriate, which could be of use to the Technical, Sales or Marketing teams.
· Be prepared to undertake training responsibilities deemed appropriate to your knowledge and skill both before installation and after installation has been completed to ensure customer is capable of operating equipment to levels that the company believe appropriate.
· Attend training courses In the UK and Europe as necessary to develop and refresh knowledge.
· Maintain records and complete paperwork in accordance with ISO 9002 standard being operated by the company
· Provide continual feedback on the company image, product acceptance and service.
· Stay within expenses budget, especially car phones.
· Submit expenses and car mileage monthly as detailed by the company
· Ensure car is maintained in line with manufacturers service details and maintain the car to a clean and safe condition.
· Receive authority for holidays from Line Manager before booking.
· Carry out other duties that may be requested, we will take into account suitability for the role, knowledge and training required.
Person Specifications
· Previous CTP, WFiJ, Digital or Litho Graphic experience
· Previous experience in repairing electro/mechanical equipment
· Engineering experience in Wide Format Inkjet devices (preferred). Will consider candidates with Screen CTP device experience.
· Previous Print Industry (Wide Format Digital Print or Litho Graphic) background
· HNC in mechanics or electrical engineering, or equivalent qualification
· Adaptability and flexibility.
· Strong customer handling skills.
· Ability to work under pressure.
· Drive, enthusiasm and initiative.
· Be able to work unsupervised.
· Excellent interpersonal skills.
· Excellent telephone manner.
