Reporting into: Sales Director
In consultation with Global Sales Director, Technical Sales Representative will be develop and implement a sales strategy for the EU and UK. This will include direct sales responsibility and management of distribution partners. Responsible for the full sales cycle, from generating leads for new customers to closing sales and meeting targets, resulting in growth for the current Genomics and Proteomics business within the Life Sciences market. S/he will determine customer needs and choose appropriate products to maintain current territory revenue. In addition to traditional sales responsibilities, the TSR will use a high level of organizational skills to monitor multiple customer inquiry portals and respond to inquiries in a timely manner to coordinate and oversee the flow of their services or products within a given territory. Technical knowledge is necessary to determine need or determine when to refer to technical team for further assistance. TSR will maintain the database including customer info, meeting notes and product usage. The TSR must be a self-starter with the ability to develop relationships with new customers to discover their needs and create solutions. This is a new position in Europe with the aim to expand upon existing business.

Role Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position reports to the Director of Sales for business alignment. This individual will be home-based. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
– Identify and develop relationships with new high-potential targets
– Capture additional revenue from current customer base by up/cross-selling
– Reach out to inactive accounts to determine status and reasons for business decline
– Collaborate with technical conferral team on custom product design, ensuring customer specifications, timing and budget needs are considered.
– Organize conferral/technical support meetings with customers
– Attend regional conferences and arrange on-site customer visits
– Maintain current customer records in CRM, create quotes as needed and follow up to close.
– Leverage distribution partners to achieve revenue goals. This includes directing activity of current partners, assessing performance and leading recruitment of new partners as needed – all in conjunction with Sales Director.
Travel:
– Role is home-based, however, travel will be required to attend industry conferences and to meet with customers within territory. Periodic office travel is also to be expected. A company car will be provided.
Person Specifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
– Exceptional customer relationship management and organizational skills
– Proven success in closing sales and meeting targets
– Proficiency in MS Outlook, MS TEAMS, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
– Experience with Sage, Salesforce or other CRM
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills
– High energy team player with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
– Capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously and working independently
– Goal and incentive oriented and attentive to details
– Independent and creative problem solving skills are essential
– Experience with channel management strongly preferred
EDUCATION:
– Bachelor’s degree in Science, Biology preferred.
– Engineer, Master’s Degree or PhD in Biological or Biochemical Sciences (or equivalent in Life Science areas, such as Molecular & Cellular Biology, Biochemistry or Immunology) preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
– 5-8 years’ of experience in sales in a life science, molecular biology or NGS environment
– Experienced in working with Academics, Government Institutions, Chemical and Life Science Industry.
– Fluency in English (written and oral) is essential. French and other European languages would be an asset.
– Familiarity with CRM and proficient at maintaining the database with current and accurate information
– Demonstrated ability working in multiple countries in EU and experience of working with US colleagues.
