Role Requirements
• The candidate will be required to perform total system level complex-troubleshooting on equipment with a high number of optical components, multiple cameras, lasers and computer-controlled hardware and software.
• Build a strong relationship with the customer insuring that they are kept always informed of the status of their system.
• Complete all administrative tasks in a timely manner, including service reports, expense accounts and travel arrangements insuring clear communication with both the office and the customer.
• Assist in sales by identifying sales opportunities while on site and communicate these back to the sales team.
• Be responsible and keep warranty, repair, and travel costs under control.
• Share knowledge and report back expertise to the technical team and expect the same back in return.
• Show initiative and have a high sense of motivation to make sure the customer is always provided for.
• Maintain effective quality standards, as per the IMSOL quality statement and the ISO9001 standard
Person Specifications
A qualified technical/engineer with relevant work experience providing technical support and troubleshooting complex equipment.
Someone with technical analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision whilst maintaining high quality standards.
Excellent communications skills, listening skills and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of IT systems, including networking, (knowledge of Linux is also highly desirable).
Any optical or microscopy experience would be highly beneficial.
And a willingness to travel within the UK and Europe, including overnight stays as required, therefore the candidate must hold a valid UK driving license.
