Field Service Engineer
Role Overview
We are recruiting for an exciting new role as a Field Service Engineer to cover a UK wide territory for a well respected manufacturer of GC, GCMS & HPLC systems.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of field service support, customer relationship management and providing detailed service reports to the customer. You will provide service on gas chromatography systems, including installation, repairs, preventative maintenance, and instrument qualifications. They will also coordinate resources and work with the Service Team to deliver technical expertise to customers with high-quality results to ensure high-customer satisfaction.
Role Requirements
Responsibilities:
o To install and support the product range
o Work as part of an experienced team offering first class customer support
o Perform installations of new instruments, followed by customer training and support
o Provide technical support to customers and partners.
o Carry out preventative maintenance on systems according to defined protocols
o Ensure breakdowns and troubleshooting have a 48 hour response time
o Communicate effectively with customers and team regarding scheduling, repair or maintenance needs, part requests, expectations and outcomes
o Install software and hardware upgrades
o Work closely with the sales team to identify sales opportunities
o Complete validation of instrumentation; IQ/OQ/PQ
o Accurate reporting of all service jobs using Salesforce in a timely manner
o Maintaining accurate inventory of spare parts
o Factory training will be provided
Person Specifications
Person Specification:
We are looking for applicants who have experience in GC/GCMS troubleshooting & maintenance and is willing to travel up to 100% of your work schedule across the UK.
There will be occasional visits to the head office in Scotland will be required as well as approximately 2 overnight stays per week.
o Experience working for a manufacturer in the same field.
o Proven experience in field service role.
o Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, and CRM software.
o Exceptional customer service skills.
o Excellent communication skills.
o Experienced in working in regulated environments such as GLP/GMP
o Ability to work well in a team and ability to make your own decisions.
