Field Service Engineer
Role Overview
We are seeking a Field Service Engineer who has years of experience in maintaining and repairing chromatography and mass spectrometry equipment. The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and repairing analytical equipment at client sites. This position will require frequent travel to client sites, and may require occasional travel outside of the area. The ideal candidate will possess a track-record of success as a field-service engineer for analytical equipment, outstanding technical skills, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. This role is ideal for self-starting, curious candidates who are excited to learn new skills and who take pride in exceeding customer expectations.

Role Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
1) Adhere to company core values & purpose
2) Serve as the face of the company while onsite with customers – prioritize customer service and experience above all else; communicate with clients to provide updates on service and repair activities, and ensure client satisfaction
3) Conduct on-site repairs and preventative maintenance on a range of analytical equipment, including HPLC, GC, LC-MS, and other laboratory instruments
4) Troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions to ensure optimal performance of equipment
5) Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, and serve as the primary point of contact for all technical issues related to their equipment
6) Work with clients to develop equipment maintenance plans and provide recommendations for improvements
7) Document all service and repair activities accurately and timely, and maintain detailed records using company provided software suite
8) Provide training and support to clients on equipment use and maintenance, and serve as a technical resource for their teams
9) Maintain a high level of technical expertise through ongoing training and development
10) Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, and ensure compliance with regulatory Requirements
Person Specifications
Ideal Candidate Attributes:
– High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor& degree in Electronics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or related field preferred
– 3+ years of experience in technical, field-based support or maintenance of analytical equipment, including HPLC, GC, LC-MS, and other laboratory instruments
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on delivering outstanding customer service
– Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic
– Continuous improvement mindset
– Willingness to travel frequently (occasionally overnight) to client sites; must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
– Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds

Package
Base salary up to $130,000
Up to $15,000 in commission
