Field Service Engineer
Role Overview
– Respond in a timely and professional manner to customers and colleagues regards the Service, Maintenance and Repair of high technology measurement and analysis equipment.
– Liaise with customers in person, via telephone or email to answer technical performance questions, arrange visits or specifiy and supply spare parts or replacement components.
– Be aware of and follow good Environmentla Health and Safety (EHS) practices at all times.
– Be prepared to travel wherever the customer equipment is located, mainly throughout the UK and Ireland.
– Over night stays may be required for Service visits and overseas training as required

Role Requirements
– Install and optimise hardware/software products and configurations at customer sites
– Diagnose and resolve product performance problems
– Perform maintenance and repairs
– Calibrate customer equipment according to specifications
– Ensure customer satisfaction by advising customers on preventive maintenance and configurations to optimise product performance
– Proactively respond to potential equipment issues to prevent unplanned interruption of customers’ business
– Provide technical support to customers via phone and email
– Provide training as required
– Maintain records and input data into cloud based data systems
Person Specifications
– A Bachelors or master’s degree within the science field — e.g. chemistry, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology or similar experience
– 2+ years of experience in a similar position
– Experience or expertise with Spectroscopy or Chromatography (UV,FTIR,FL,Pol, CD)
– Experience with troubleshooting and problem solving
– Excellent inter-personal, self-motivational, verbal and written communication skills
– Demonstrate organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks with different priorities
– Ability to interact with customers and co-workers at a professional level and be able to work independently
– You enjoy travelling and visiting customers
