Field Service Engineer
Role Overview
We are currently working with a leading distributor within the chromatography market who are looking for a Field Service Engineer to join their team.
Our client serves professionals in biopharma, environmental and life sciences – enabling their ongoing quest for superior outcomes that make life better.
Working with urgency and purpose, Our client brings mission critical products to our customers in support of their quest to discover and manufacture new therapeutics vaccines, and diagnostics.
Role Requirements
· This role will be predominantly based in West Midlands (With 1-2 overnight stays a month)
· Carrying out installations, repairs and maintenance on Chromatography instruments such as HPLC, GCMS, LCMS instrumentation
· Performs IQ/OQ/PM and repair when required at customer site
· Always maintain adequate amounts of stock and equipment in order to minimise customer downtime and ensure compliance with contractual objectives
· Develop and maintain effective customer facing communication and questioning skills to determine the issues to be resolved.
· Intermediate level IT skills in MS Office and report writing in Word & Excel.
· Ensure customer field service reports are completed and any surplus parts are returned to the office within a 48-hour time frame.
Person Specifications
· Worked on HPLC, LCMS, GCMS equipment
· Happy to work on a main site majority of the time
· Full UK driving licence
· Ideally you will be educated with an HNC, HND or BSc in a life science discipline or an ONC, HNC in an engineering discipline.
· Proactive and self-motivated approach to maintaining current knowledge of products and services, and scanning the external environment to keep to date on current research and learning.
