Field Service Engineer
Role Overview
Reporting to the Field Service Manager, you will be predominantly based in the Southeast / Greater London area with travel to the Southwest and M4 corridor, occasional travel to the Wimbledon office being required.
Together with the rest of the team you will cover all aspects of service support including, but not limited to, Installations, Services and Breakdowns. This role requires travel at short notice, all our territories need to be covered at times i.e. installations, engineers on annual leave/sickness, therefore you may be required to travel further afield when required, this may require overnight stays.

This position is for an experienced Field Engineer with IT knowledge. You will join a small service team who are responsible for all instruments and installations, including laboratory network solutions.
Role Requirements
On-site instrument maintenance, repair and troubleshooting and telephone support for instrument issues
Instrument installation and decommissioning
Installation & support of laboratory IT/network solutions (LIMS/middleware)
Work closely with the commercial team to ensure collaboration and excellent customer service
Training customers and colleagues in the use of the company’s instruments and software
Ensure excellent standards of customer care by visiting clients proactively, in the absence of issues
Monitor spare parts inventory and ensure appropriate stock is maintained
Completion of all Administration requirements, timely and accurately in line with company policies and external quality control requirements
Any other duties as necessitated by the business
Person Specifications
An Electronic or Mechanical Engineering qualification e.g. BTEC, HNC
At least two years’ experience working with instrumentation, ideally in a laboratory environment
Experience with IT information systems, preferably in a hospital environment
A keen interest in medical diagnostics and associated products, with a desire to develop a career in this field
Self-motivated, ability to organise and prioritise daily work, excellent communication skills, flexible and dynamic
