Field Service Engineer
Role Overview
As a field service engineer you will be required to give our clients the best quality service. This role is focused on the Healthcare and Scientific Research market involved with service, repair and maintenance on a range of exciting laboratory equipment.
This is a field-based role mainly focussed on the south of England and London area. At times you may be expected to travel to into Central London as well as Portsmouth, Southampton, Oxford or even Cambridge. At times there may be a need to travel to customer sites outside of this area depending on your work schedule.
We are looking for applicants to have previous service engineering experience ideally within the scientific or medical field and hold a formal engineering qualification

We are recruiting on behalf of worldwide leader in water purification systems and laboratory equipment who are looking for a new Field Service Engineer to join the Service team in the UK.
Role Requirements
· Carry out on-site preventive maintenance visits and electrical / mechanical fault finding of equipment including our range of water treatment and other laboratory systems, repairs and emergency response visits
· Carry out commissioning and installation work on water treatment and other laboratory equipment (such as Lab water products, CO2 Incubators, autoclaves and air flow cabinets) and provide after-sales technical and commercial support.
· Work from technical documents (installation manuals, maintenance manuals, etc.)
· Complete required service documentation to the required level. Complete call reports.
· Work within a team to provide best customer experience, communicate with our Service Office team daily
· Maintain car stock inventory of spare parts
· Following Health and Safety Procedures
· Perform other duties as assigned
Person Specifications
· NVQ or higher in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering or similar, or proven experience.
· A full UK driving license is required.
· Experience of working as a Service Engineer or in a field based technical support role is essential.
· Working knowledge of electrical / mechanical equipment is essential
· Experience with the types of listed equipment would be an advantage but is not essential.
· Knowledge of the Healthcare and Scientific market is desirable but not essential.
· Good organisational skills with an eye for detail and the ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks.
· Passionate about providing a first-class service to our customers. Willing to react to customer needs at short notice.
· A professional and diligent approach to your work and communication with colleagues and customers.
· Ability to work as part of a team and on your own.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels in a clear and concise manner.
· A good level of IT competency
