Field Service Engineer
Role Overview
We are recruiting on behalf of an innovative diagnostic and life science company who are looking for a Field Service Engineer to join their team.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the service, repair and maintenance of a range of medical diagnostic devices across the South UK.
Role Requirements
· Meeting daily service repair needs and driving customer satisfaction through service excellence.
· Exercising of judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
· Compliance of field service technical standards is required.
· Monitoring of field service policies, procedures, standards, and company to policies and procedures is mandatory.
· Requires travel on short notice; overnight travel may be required depending on service region requirements.
· Maintain inventory of parts and supplies
· Install and repair scientific instrumentation at customer locations within a multi-state geographic region.
· Manage an expense account, service tools and spare parts inventories.
· Interface daily with internal and external customers
· Submit written reports
· Utilize the CRM system to capture full documentation of all calls and entering appropriate codes to ensure accurate history of reporting trends and corrective actions
Meeting departmental expectations regarding the following:
· Response time
· PM completion Rates
· Service call-backs
· Customer Satisfaction Survey Results
Person Specifications
· Bachelor’s degree or appropriate formal engineering qualification, Level 3, HNC/HND is preferred.
· Minimum 2 years’ experience as field service engineer within a medical environment, or working as medical laboratory technician having a demonstrable practical aptitude and interest in engineering. Strong applicants without such experience, but with good experience of complex electro-mechanical equipment gained in a highly regulated industry would be considered.
· Demonstrable interest and ability in practical aspects of electromechanical engineering is essential, preferably backed up by an appropriate engineering qualification.
· We are looking for a candidate who can deliver first class customer service at all times and can develop and maintain the current customer base when representing the company and its products.
