Field Service Technician
Role Overview
We are looking for a talented and passionate inidviduals to join our team. We are seeking a field service technician to support service operations by providing testing, preventive maintenance and repair of HEPA filtered devices, including biological safety cabinets, clean benches, and clean rooms in pharmacies, laboratories and hospitals nationwide.
This is a remote-based customer-facing position providing testing solutions nationwide with a focus on personal and work life balance. This position supports cleanroom certification projects working under the supervision of a senior technician. A Certification Technician independently tests a wide variety of HEPA-filtered devices and clean rooms at Customer sites. Self-directed individuals with the ability to function in complex lab and industrial environments will thrive in this position.
This position is on track to becoming a regional field service supervisor within the next 1-2 years if the candidate poses the leadership and interpersonal skills needed for this position.

Role Requirements
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for testing and certification of HEPA air filtration in laboratory equipment.
• Perform testing of air conveyance systems in cleanrooms, including biological safety cabinets, laboratory fume hoods and other laboratory ventilation equipment.
• Responsible for inspection services including troubleshooting and equipment maintenance and repairs.
• Work in a cleanroom utilizing the best cleanroom operation guidance and standards.
• Utilize an internal software data management system to record and upload testing data.
• Provide Customer satisfaction through proactive communication and commitment to resolving issues.
• Regularly report to management regarding changes to the schedules and service visit outcomes.
• Generate clear and accurate documentation of test results and prepare GMP compliant test reports.
• Maintain and be responsible for personal tools and testing equipment.
• Perform administrative duties promptly as assigned.
Identify potential business growth opportunities and communicate leads to management
Person Specifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a Customer facing position, field service experience preferred.
• 2-4 years of Cleanroom/BSC/Fume Hood certification experience.
• NSF/CETA or NEBB Certified preferred, but not required at start of position.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Safety mindset.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail oriented, organized, proactive, passion for quality and accuracy.
• Exceptional customer service focus and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency with computers, MS Office and specialized programs.
• Excellent MS Word formatting and technical writing ability.
• Basic math skills including geometry and algebra.
• Experience with laboratory building systems, and/or laboratory infrastructure.
• Understand cleanroom operations, gowning practices, contamination control principles and how to work within a clean environment or with clean air devices.
• Ability to understand technical drawings and manuals, extract technical data and create protocols.
• Strong technical aptitude in order to understand the theory and working knowledge of test instruments.
• In depth knowledge of hood and cabinet testing standards highly preferred.
• Be able to evaluate the acceptability and validity of test data and results.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work well independently in a self-directed environment or in a team.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen and physical.
• Good driving record and valid license.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Be able to use hand and power tool and frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Work requires the physical ability to lift and carry equipment with varying weights up to 50 lbs.
• The work environment is a GxP environment that may require specific PPE and cleanroom attire.
WORK LOCATION:
• Open – Remote.
• On the road, 50% travel on average , fluctuating in peak periods
SHIFT AND SCHEDULE:
• Monday – Friday, off-hours, overnight travel and weekends as needed.
